Sherrie Lynne is a fine artist based in New York City with over 20 years of experience in painting and drawing. At university (a magna cum laude graduate) she studied with both European, Israeli and American art instructors. She later continued her studies at the Art Students League in New York City for 14 years.
Over the last ten years she has devoted most of her time and energy to the world of
abstract art primarily focusing on the process of abstracting from the live model. She
loves to explore the shapes and contours, lines and movement of the human figure and
translate them into an engaging piece of abstract artwork.
Sherrie continues to study the masters, as well as more contemporary artists with her
primary mentor, Frank O’Cain. Her artistic influences include Cezanne, Picasso, de
Kooning, Kline, Johnson (Wm. H), Cassatt and Japanese art.
Her work has been on view at the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery and New York City Hall.
“I want to invite the viewer into my work so they can have an engaging experience with
it.”
